No Two Stones Are Alike

When I began creating the Face Ritual Stone, I knew I wanted it to feel like more than a beauty tool. I wanted it to become an object you reach for as part of a daily ritual, something that encourages you to slow down, use your hands, and reconnect with your face.

I chose Blue Aventurine because I was drawn to its beauty, its character, and the sense of calm its soft blue tones evoke.

But one of the things I love most about the stone is something I noticed even more once I had many of them in front of me:

No two are alike.

Some are a soft, misty blue-gray. Others are deeper indigo. Some have beautiful bands running through them, while others reveal delicate mineral speckling, clouds, streaks, and unexpected patterns.

At first, I found myself naturally drawn to certain shades. But as I spent time sorting through the stones individually, I began appreciating the differences between them more and more.

There wasn't one perfect stone. Each was beautiful in its own way.

And somehow, that felt very connected to the philosophy behind the Face Ritual itself.

Just as no two stones are alike, no two faces are alike either. They carry our expressions, our experiences, our tension, our softness, and the ways we've moved through the world.

The Face Ritual has never been about trying to create one version of beauty. It's about becoming more connected to the face that is already yours.

I love that the stones reflect that same idea.

A Gua Sha Tool Created With Intention

The shape of the Face Ritual Stone was created with intention. I wanted different edges and curves that could work with different areas of the face, from broader sweeping movements to smaller areas where we tend to hold tension.

It needed to feel beautiful in the hand, but also functional enough to become something you genuinely use.

Used with a facial oil or serum to create slip, Gua Sha can become a simple part of your daily skincare ritual. Gentle, intentional movements can help support circulation, reduce the appearance of puffiness, release areas of facial tension, and leave the face looking refreshed and radiant.

But for me, the ritual is about more than what we see in the mirror.

Taking a few minutes to work slowly with your face can also become an opportunity to notice where you're holding tension, soften your touch, and bring a little more presence into something you already do every day.

A Handwoven Home for Each Stone

And then there is the pouch.

Each Face Ritual Stone comes in an artisan-made indigo pouch, handwoven in Northern Thailand.

I wanted the stone to have a home of its own, something beautiful that reflected the craftsmanship and global traditions that have always been at the heart of Lina Hanson.

Together, the stone and pouch feel less like another skincare accessory to me and more like objects of ritual.

Your stone may be lighter or darker than one you've seen in a photograph. Its veining may be quiet or pronounced. It may have a streak, a cloud of color, or a mineral pattern that belongs only to that piece.

That's exactly what I love about them.

The stone you receive won't look exactly like anyone else's. It's uniquely yours.

And I hope that over time, as you use it and create your own ritual around it, it becomes even more personal.

Pairing Your Face Ritual Stone With Skincare

Gua Sha is best practiced on skin with enough slip for the stone to glide comfortably without pulling or tugging.

I love pairing the Face Ritual Stone with our botanical skincare. Global Face Serum creates a nourishing glide for everyday facial massage, while Global Calm is a beautiful option for sensitive or easily reactive skin.

For areas that may benefit from a little more nourishment, particularly the neck and décolleté, Global Treasures can also be incorporated into your ritual.

The idea isn't to add more steps. It's to turn the skincare you're already applying into a few intentional minutes of touch, movement, and connection with your face.
