I had only been in Chiang Mai for a few days when I decided to go to an elephant sanctuary and spend a day with a group of rescued elephants. It's still one of the most memorable experiences, and one of the highlight of my trip to Chiang Mai. We drove about an hour away from the city, until we reached a park in the middle of the jungle.
We are introducing a new project - The Global Beauty Series.
Our mission in starting this initiative is to tackle the idea of beauty stereotypes, while learning human stories from different perspectives.
Throughout the next several months, we are featuring various people and giving them a platform to share the views and experiences that shaped them.
Our first Global Beauty Series participant is Asa Nygards from Leksand, Sweden.

There is a connection to our skin and emotions. Did you ever hear about the Japanese researcher, Masaru Emoto’s experiment with water? He said that human consciousness has an effect on water and it could react to positive thoughts and words. He even said that polluted water could be cleaned through prayer and positive visualization. If 60% of our body consists of water, don’t you think we would also benefit from positive thoughts, words and visualization?
I travel the world for inspiration for my Global Beauty Collection. The Swedish forest is filled with arctic treasures which have the richest concentrations of antioxidants and vitamins. In fact, the plants grown here are some of the most resilient in the world. These were a few of my favorite discoveries.
I'm a true nature girl at heart but I love cities! There is something about the energy and pulse of a city I just can’t get enough of. However, the pollutants in the city air tend to make skin dry, vulnerable and susceptible to all sorts of skin issues. Of course, we all know dirty air isn’t great for the skin, but did you know it can actually add years to your face?
Could you tell me a little bit about the inspiration behind Studio Naenna?
The inspiration behind Studio Naenna has evolved over the years but the main goal is to support and represent handloom weavers in the international market, and acknowledge the beauty and skill of their handmade items.
Prepping your skin is one of the most important steps before any makeup application if you want a natural, glowing and radiant look. It's all about exfoliating and hydrating your skin to help your skin feel refreshed, smooth and moisturized.
