What Is True Inclusivity?

In recent years, the beauty industry has become far more inclusive in how we represent and highlight race, age, gender and social status and although we still have work to do, I think we've made great strides. But what about diversity in thought? Diverse belief system? Diverse perspectives? It seems that although we've made strides elsewhere, there's still plenty of judgement surrounding others beliefs and perspectives.

How do we truly become inclusive?

We all walk in different shoes, and have had different life experiences. So how can I believe that someone else’s opinion is less valid than mine? It’s simply a perspective. Not an absolute truth.

So as long as we’re still judging someone for being different than ourselves, are we truly inclusive?

Maybe the real key here is understanding and accepting that we may never ALL get on the same page. Maybe the lesson is to accept each other DESPITE our differences? Maybe the world in all its diversity, is really for the betterment of our lives and our planet? Maybe that’s how we truly thrive?

I believe true dialogue and authentic communication is the only way for us to move forward.

Love, Lina
